A New Head of Henk’s

A new head of henks has been chosen from the henk’s staff! Kate Quinlanm, a waitress and one of the four original founders of Henk’s restaurant won the election for head of henks last week. ” I was kind of shocked,” says Kate age 12, ” I didn’t think anyone would vote for me. ” When asked how she felt about taking on this new responsibility Kate answered, ” I think this will be an interesting experience.” Many of those who voted seemed to agreed that it was time for a change. “Although she may not seem like a leader, I think kate is a honest person who can resolve some of the issues here at henks.” said Kate’s sister Emma.

P.S. If you are interested in joining Henk’s then don’t worry, we are in need of members. But, we are, I must warn you, very picky. So if you want to be a waitress, you must be friendly. If you want to cook, you obviously must be good at cooking. Oh, well actually, you have to be nice anyway, not just nice as a waitress.

Ingredients:                                                   Equipment:

6 eggs                                                              Mixing bowl

1 half teaspoon salt                                       Fork

1 eighth teaspoon pepper                             Measuring cups and spoons

4 tablespoons water                                      Large Skillet

2 tablespoons butter                                     Spatula

1 half cup grated cheese                               Serving dish

1.  Crack the eggs into the mixing bowl. Use the fork to beat the eggs untill they are well mixed.

2. Add the salt, pepper, and water. Continue beating the mixture with the fork untill it is foamy.

3. Melt the butter in the skillet over medium-high heat untill it is bubbly. Be careful not to let the butter burn.

4. Carefully pour the egg mixture into the skillet.

5.  As the egg mixture cooks, use the spatula to push it gently toward the middle of the skillet. Next, tilt the pan slightly, so the uncooked part of the mixture moves to the outside.

6. When the bottom of the omelet is lightly browned and the eggs are firm, sprinkle the grated cheese over half of the omelet.

7.  Lift and fold the other half of the omelet over the cheese.

8. Lower the heat to medium- low and allow the omelet to cook untill the cheese is fully melted, about 2 to 3 minutes.

9. Slide the omelet out of the pan and onto the serving dish. Serve the omelet while it is hot.

Henk’s is a restaurant that was founded by 4 young ladies who loved to cook. Soon, they organized Henk’s grand opening. Customers loved the fresh, well cooked food, and money poured in. The ladies parents said that since they were getting so much income, maybe they should start a donating organization with Henk’s! That inspired the now 6 young women to donate 50% of the money to feeding starving children around the world, and 25% of it to the MSPCA, a rescue league for animals. Despite the fact that they are getting a lot of money, Henk’s is a fairly new restaurant, and still needs donations. And now, with Henk’s donating itself, needs them more then ever.
